Nokia announced the Nokia 6, 5, 3 & 3310 at MWC 2017 today.
The entire technology industry was eager to see Nokia at MWC 2017. Nokia had kept the whole mobile phone industry waiting with bated breath to see what they had in store for us.
Countless rumors of a reboot to the classic Nokia 3310 were also floating all around the internet, with leaks made by the most reputed names in the tech industry.
The wait is finally over. Nokia’s next breed of smartphones are finally here. Along with them, comes a phone that pays homage to the original Nokia 3310 (spoiler alert: they have also given a fresh life to the famous Snake game).
Nokia 6, 5, 3 & 3310 Details:
Starting with the cheapest, Nokia has officially announced a refreshed 3310. It will come in a few different colors, and prices will start at €49 (roughly Rs. 3450). The phone will ship with the second version of Nokia’s popular Snake game.
Nokia also announced the Nokia 3. This 5″ 720×1280 Android-based smartphone will ship with 2GB RAM, 16GB storage (expandable to 128GB using microSD) and a MediaTek MT6737 CPU. For graphics, there is a Mali-T720 Mp2 on board.
The phone also sports an 8MP camera (front & back) with autofocus. It will have a polycarbonate back with an aluminum frame.
It is priced at €139 (roughly Rs. 9790). It will support 4G LTE. Both, single and dual SIM variants will be available.
The company has also announced the Nokia 5. It sports the same 2GB RAM and 16GB storage configuration, but comes with a larger 5.2″ 720×1280 display. The device is powered by a Snapdragon 430. The user’s graphical needs will be handled by an Adreno 505.
The phone will also sport a 13MP camera with auto-focus (8MP wide-angle front camera). Aesthetically, it will have curved edges and a front fingerprint scanner.
The device is priced at €189 (roughly Rs. 13300). This will also be available in single and dual SIM variants. Additionally, it will support NFC. The Nokia 5 will ship with Android 7 Nougat out of the box.
Finally, Nokia also announced the Nokia 6 for the global market. We had earlier reported that the phone will be launched in Chinese markets, but it will soon be available globally. It is priced at €229, and has a 5.5″ Full HD display. It sports 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

To conclude, while the hardware of the phones is a bit underwhelming, Nokia still has a chance if they work things right with the software, updates and overall features. Build quality will play a huge role, too, since that’s what Nokia was originally known for.
